New Hire: John D’Onofrio Joins Cyclops as Lead Solutions Architect

Payoneer and Paxos veteran brings years of payments and stablecoin experience to the Cyclops team.

We’re excited to welcome John D’Onofrio as Cyclops’ new Lead Solutions Architect.

John joins Cyclops after nearly two years at Payoneer, where he led projects at the intersection of payments and stablecoins. Before Payoneer, he spent six and a half years at Paxos across product operations and solutions, helping build and launch numerous stablecoins and the products behind them. He created the operations and solutions playbooks from scratch that supported stablecoin supply growing to over $20B. During his time there, Paxos grew from roughly 50 employees to about 350, and John worked directly with some of the largest companies in the world, including PayPal, Mercado Libre and American Express.

That experience showed John firsthand the problems stablecoins solve, and how much work remains on making it easy for payments companies to adopt this technology at scale. It also taught him how much the team matters at an early-stage company. The team he met during the hiring process is ultimately what drew him to Cyclops, and he believes it has the right people in place to achieve its mission.

Having worked on both the issuing side of stablecoins and the operating side of a global payments business, John brings a perspective few in the industry share. He understands not just how the technology works, but how it has to fit into the settlement flows, compliance requirements and customer expectations that payments companies manage every day.

We’re thrilled to have him join Cyclops to bridge the product, engineering and business teams. Welcome to the team, John!
